KDE Plasma on Android | No Root

 



Hello friends, 

In this blog we will see how we can install KDE Plasma desktop on android even without having root access.



Prerequisite 

Termux

VNC Viewer


Installation

First of all  update your termux repositories and install proot distro by executing following command

pkg update && pkg install proot-distro 


Now install ubuntu with proot distro

proot-distro install ubuntu


Login to ubuntu using following command

proot-distro login ubuntu


Now first you need to update ubuntu repositories 

apt update && apt upgrade


Once done then install KDE Plasma desktop and tigervnc and dbus by executing following command

apt-get install kubuntu-desktop tigervnc-standalone-server dbus-x11


Now you are all set, just start vncserver by executing following command

vncserver -geometry <your display resolution> -xstartup /bin/startplasma-x11


Now open VNC Viewer and connect to localhost:1 




[Note: If screen resolution is cracking then just click on "i" button in VNC Viewer and set picture quality to High]


To stop vncserver execute following command

vncserver -kill :1
